Buku yang mengisahkan tentang Zoe yang terpaksa melalui pelbagai rintangan untuk mengandung sehingga la 3 kali IVF di mana semasa IVF kali ketiga menyebabkan suaminya Max terpaksa meminjam duit daripada abangnya, Reid kerana kos rawatan kesuburan memberikan impak kepada keadaan kewangan mereka.

Baby yang meninggal di dalam perut pada usia kandungan 24 minggu menguatkan semangat Zoe untuk terus mencuba untuk mendapatkan zuriat yang sangat-sangat diidamkan sejak dia kecil. Ini akhirnya membawa kepada penceraian beliau bersama Max kerana Max merasakan trying to have a baby is getting bigger than their love towards each other.

Akhirnya, walaupun Zoe menyerahkan hak ke atas embrio tersebut kepada Max, Max memberikan embrio tersebut kepada Zoe kerana Max memahami betapa Zoe sangat berhajat hendak mempunyai anak sendiri.
